Do you think the book 'I am Number 4' was good, but the romance ruined it?

I think it was so over the top because it was meant to be like sad. 4 won't be able to be with Sarah as he will need to be with on of his own people as they need to return to Lorien and also at the end when he has to leave without her, he promises he will come back for her which is sort of sad for them both but yes you are very right when you say the romance is sloppy, I needed a sick bucket (joke) at some point.
