Can I lose weight on a 100 carbohydrate diet?

So for starters, I'm 6'5 and 270 pounds. I have been down to as low as 225 but am gaining again. My friend did some research and found out the health benefits to eating a high protein high fat diet. He is much smaller than I, but has lost 35 pounds this year. He limits his carbs to 20 a day, which is pretty standard for that diet. He's been trying to convince me to do it, and I finally decided it was a good idea after watching the movie Fathead (a little amateur but highly recommended). I'm wondering if i throw in the occasional breaded chicken or potato, limiting to about 50-100 carbs a day, would I still lose weight? Would I still have to count calories or could I still treat it like the atkins diet (ie eat as much fat as I want and only limit carbs)? I've done the atkins diet before, but it's hard to stick to for long periods. I try and exercise with Basketball, Frisbee and Badminton 2-6 times a week depending on the weather. My metabolism is extremely regular and fast working, since I am 22 years old. I also take Attention Deficit Disorder medication, which has the side effect of increased metabolism and hunger suppression, which has always helped when I've decided to diet. I concur, this deck has to many one of a kind cards, with no main focus. Pick a "win condition" or a good combo or a specific card to center the deck around. Keep the deck to about 60 cards, put 20-24 land in the deck and play it to test it. What exactly happened in this situation?

I just read an article about an incident in the airport in my city. Weather was bad(heavy rains and winds) at the time of final approach, and they started descending towards the airport. A passenger said it was really scary as the aircraft seemed to be rapidly descending than usual during the final approach, and they were scared about a possible crash from the way they were descending. During the short final, they got an announcement from the cockpit informing them that they had to abort landing because the aircraft apparently "hit an air packet" and they're going for a go-around. When they were rapidly descending, did the pilots stay on the control, or just use autopilot? What were the possible radio communications between the ATC and the pilots when this happened? After lifting off, when do they engage autopilot, and at what situations do they disengage it and take the controls manually?(I know A/P is disengaged during the flare, but other than that?) My family and I just moved into home on about 2 acres this winter and as the weather has gotten much warmer lately I was walking around my yard the other day and saw a couple of trees and bushes that both have red berries and black berries also. The orcs are already coming out and he has to help he army hold them off and he has to get in. But when he gets there he learns a BIG secret. Their master is holding something that determines the fate of their world. (The enemy master doesn't know he has it). So if he destroys the portal their world dies. So he has to go in there kill the master and make it out with the item, but he only has 2 hours or else the orcs will overrun the army and scatter everywhere wiping them all out. Few dif issues can you try to help?

I'm going to the Dominican Republic next week and was planning on packing for one week and just washing my clothes so I could wear them again for the second week. I'm packing moisture wicking clothes so that they dry quicker. I've never been in your situation but have friends that have. One of my friends lived with and had two kids with her man (they weren't married). Your story sounds similar to hers because she used to tell me how he would get involved with these get-rich-quick schemes or other issues and then when things wouldn't work out, he'd be down on himself. Also, she said he wasn't responsible enough (ex: she had to remind about the rent or other things that, as a man, he should've been on top of), lacked direction, had bad communication skills and much more. She tried talking to him about it and for a short period of time, it would seem like he was improving, however, the old behavior would always resurface. Then she got to the point where she got tired of feeling like she had a third child and started talking down to him because she said the respect for him was totally gone. Eventually, they ended things. Then after some time had passed, she heard he was dating and wanted a second shot to make things work for their kids sake. However, shortly after trying to make it work, she noticed that he still had the same bad qualities and realized that she made the best decision, from the beginning, by ending things. She said that she realized she couldn't live with a man who was like this and it was better for the kids if they were apart. She also said that if he changes, it should be because he wants to change and not because she keeps telling him over and over what he needs to do and not do. As of now, she met someone new who is totally opposite of her kids' father (in a good way). She said that if she hadn't gone thru the pain and let downs of their father, she probably wouldn't appreciate the new guy for what he has to offer. That was her experience. My advice would be to do everything your capable of doing to try and make it work. If you see you're the only one making an effort, then maybe you might want to explore parting ways with him. All you can do is control your end. He's a man and should step up, especially since he has someone like you who has his back. and after getting a second opinion right away from a great Vet doctor, she was prescribed enalapril 2.5mg and furosemide 12.5 for the next 15 days until her next check-up. The first vet doctor gave her the wrong medications which could have potentially made her very worse. She had an EKC today and she is healthy and happy. All her other organs are healthy, blood pressure is fine, breathing is fine and no other issues. So my question is, have these two drugs been commonly successful for enlarged heart and for CHF? She's not in CHF stage yet either. She has very minor fluid but the doctor said that should be cleared up in days with the the medications. She eat's healthy and well, gets her exercise when the weather is good, and she is loved and happy.

Questions about being a vegetarian?

Okay so i'm 15, starting to get a little bit overweight not obese, found out that meat gives you too much proteins than what your body needs and growing up you can develop cancer. i appreciate that i have found out all of that stuff when i'm still young as i wouldn't like to grow up with diseases and cancer, I read about vegetarianism and the advantages of it, I usually eat a lot of chicken but I don't admire chicken or love it so much, meat also is not necessary . and recently I have found out that they are slaughtering animals illegally in my country , not necessarily all meats but there was a video leaked of them hitting the cow on its head and then slaughtering the poor animal, also they kill animals in front of each other which in my religion is considered forbidden as animals also have feelings, and my aunt lives in the country side and grows her own food including chicken, and seeing her slaughter a chicken (legally) but the chicken was resisting and it looked awful, so I think being a vegetarian is good for me and not really that hard except for fish :\ fish is my favorite meat and the healthiest comparing to red meat and chicken (it has omega fats which are healthy and B12 vitamins) , and actually i like it because eating fish gives me nutrients that help my body and my hair too! I don't eat it regularly so maybe 2-3 times a month maximum and sometimes we can spend 3 months or so without fish so I don't eat it that regularly but turning into a vegetarian would be good unless mum decides to cook fish, okay i'm so talkative, bottom line .... if i eat fish would that be called semi-vegetarianism or what? I don't want to walk around saying i'm vegetarian because what matters to me is that I don't want to eat meat from a tortured poor animal and also for health reasons, are there vegetarians who eat fish? if so, what are they called?

I'll be moving to Austin in September. I've visited there a few times after getting out of college here in Boston. I did some traveling to decide which would be the best place to settle in. There were only a handful of states I didn't go to. For some reason, and I don't know why, but a lot of places I went to, women (and I'm 23) in too many of these places just had very little idea of what class is. Too many places seem to be overrun with females dressing skimpy, talking like they don't have a clue (the word "like" every third word), and very little concept of culture-other than trashy pop culture. The whole Stepford cloning of those big sunglasses, furry boots, and mindless drivel was pretty common. But somehow, and I'm not sure why, but women in Austin (in my age group) were NOTHING like this! They seem to have a solid concept of class! Of course, they're the best looking women I'm sure I'll ever see (the blondes and brunettes down there literally put me in a state of shock!), but I noticed many things other than that. The places they frequented and things they did for example. The Warehouse District was FULL of (as was Town Lake) classy twentysomething, highly educated women who were secure in themselves, not literally walking around with a LOOK AT ME! sign painted on their foreheads. It was as if they were secure in themselves. I enjoyed many topics of conversation with a few educated beauties there, mostly at outdoor restaurants and a few bistros (of which are numerous). Church may play a part in it, as almost all I met were Christians, and maybe UT plays a part as well. They loved working out I noticed, and talking about the arts was big as well. They weren't into this whole conformity cloned thing (big sunglasses, furry boots, dressed scantily) AT ALL! I don't know how you do it, but I've never met more classy, educated females anywhere I've been, and trust me, it's not even close! How diverse they are was SHOCKING! I honestly would never have suspected that. Another thing that was readily apparent is how open minded women there are, that stood out right away! Most places now, so many women are snobby, or plain rude. But there, the women were very friendly to anyone, and extremely open minded. So how do you do it? How do you manage to not fall into these traps that have become like a plague in too many places? To be so open minded, have class, and be so educated, whereas most seem to have forgotten that? Keep it up!

Do plug in pest (insect) repellents run up electric bills?

I'm leaving for the summer in 4 days and I just noticed ants (in pantry) and springtails (on windowsills, bathroom, kitchen) in my home two days ago (apartment on top floor of an old home-the bottom is used as a bar/hangout area for the landlords son.) Last night I just saw a cockroach for the first time and it's feces on the pantry floor. How to add freon to 2007 Mitsubishi Galant?

About a year ago I purchased a 2007 Mitsubishi Galant from my bank as a repo and now the A/C has stopped blowing cold air. I know it needs a freon recharge but I can't find the valve to attach the hose and freon to. I bought the car without an owner manual and can't find it anywhere. How should I handle my fiance's violent, undisciplined ADHD 10 yr old boy...brat?

I've been with my fiance' for a year. Her 10 year old son is diagnosed ADHD and goes out of his way to have the worst behavior you can imagine! From early on in his life, he has had councelors, been in special schools with rubber rooms etc. When he doesn't get his way, he gets whiney and if that doesn't work, he gets violent and has trashed her house breaking down doors, smashing furniture, breaking windows, beating his younger sister, pissing all over the bathroom and on peoples's toothbrushes, threatening to burn the house down and kill everyone and the list goes on! He says "no" when asked to do anything and often simply refuses to get up for school and has missed over 20 days this year. He is on meds and refuses to take them. His mom is a small woman and is overwhelmed and overrun by him. At 10, he outweighs her at 150 lbs and I believe she is afraid of him. To me it seems that any kid who is a brat now is diagnosed ADHD. He is terrified of me and we have had some run ins, once after he chased his sister and my daughter with a knife! I'd like to develop a relationship with him but his behavior is something I can't ignore like his mother often does. His mom makes excuses for anything he does and is more concerned with why he does these things. I tell her it won't matter why when he's standing over his dead sister! He would like to see his mother dump me and does everything he can to interfere with our developing relationship. If I didn't love her so dearly, I wouldn't begin to deal with this! I must be mental myself! I'd like to take him out in the woods where nobody can hear him scream! This kid is truly dangerous yet I don't want to **** with "mother bear" either. She has asked me to please not tell her that I hate her son. I won't. This kid just now learned to read due to his non involvement in school but is calculating and intelligent. Soon he will be a 250lb 15 year old and in my opinion is a future convict. Aside from beating his *** or leaving his mom, what should I do? I usually come out looking like the asshole for suggesting he be disciplined in some way. He basically holds the house hostage with his violent outbursts! Here's the kicker...he's been this way all his life, but one year ago, his older brother who discovered he was gay, hanged himself in the family bathroom and guess who found him there! Now mom is afraid he'll do the same thing if she traumatizes him. She is a great mom and in no way caused her sons death. He was the type to bottle up his problems..nobody had a clue he was even depressed. I can't wait to hear the comments on this one!

HELP! My front lawn is being attacked by WEEDS!?

My front lawn in under attack! Many different types of weeds are overrunning the whole front yard. I even have some weird grass growing there too. I cut it and it still grows back. My feeling is this. The West goes about arming regimes because 'it is good for business' in our own countries. And then God forbid, they damn well start using them against their own citizens. Well we can't have that can we? So in goes NATO to try to make the point that this is not acceptable. The reason that Mubarak was left alone and to some extent Syria is that they didn't make the mistake of Gadaffi. Namely that he explicitly stated he was going to go after his rebels with all his western supplied military might. A red rag to a bull. Assad and Mubarak at least made the pretence of offering reform first. This doesn't make them any better, particularly Assad. And the UN resolutions condemning Assad reflect that. But the idea that the Libyan rebels are getting help solely because Libya has oil is to me just a coincidence. Gadaffi was stupid and he is now paying the price. He's been indicted by the ICC as a result whereas the likes of Mubarak face prosecution in their own countries. I actually abhor what NATO is doing to Libya, because in the end there will just be a pile of rubble where Libya once stood. And that is not good for the suffering population of Libya whichever side they are on. That is the futility of air strikes. You go in, bomb like mad and then expect whoever takes over to somehow pick up the pieces. Its blunt, it's brutal, but people like Gadaffi bring it on themselves at the end of the day.

I had a dream a couple times last night. I was walking with my father (who is deceased) in Los Angeles. I kept having a physical problem while we were walking. Then ahead and to one side of us I saw a very fast-moving river almost, but not quite, about to overrun its banks. Then I would wake up. Of course it would be amazing to have lived through every era of great art, fashion and music, to have watched the evolution of film, photography, philosophy, mathematics, technology. It's incredibly profound, however, so is the anguish of losing everything and everyone you know. And do you honestly think that real, immortal vampires can't go out in the sunlight? Why would the sun destroy them? That only happens to HUMANS (aka mortals) with porphyria. Plus, it's annoying enough that I've lost so many friends over the years and I'm only physically 22 years old, think about how horibble it would be over a 100 or even 1000 year period! How devastating it would be!!!! Think about how annoying it is that there's nowhere to where a beautiful 1874 bustled evening gown complete with corset underneath boned bodice, and a bustle cage underneath an ellaborately draped skirt. And how hard it is to make these costumes!!!!! Now compound that with actually having lived in the era when that was the height of fashion and being reduced to jeans and a t-shirt because it's socially unacceptable to dress like a victorian socialite. Even worse if you lived through the Rococo era! But the most painful thing would be the eternal loneliness and constant loss!!!! So answer honestly, if immortality was real, and came with the price of taking human life, or at least a little human blood here and there in order to survive, would you be willing to pay that price in exchange for that immortality. If a real vampire existed, and came and gave you the choice, would you want said vampire to turn you? Or would you decline. it could just be the fact that it is so hot and your radiator could be of lesser quality and causing you car to overheat and not cool proerly or the fan could be bad... so i would turn on the car and see if the fan on the radiator comes on when the car heats up or not.

Mothers: what would you do if some other child hit your child?

Not with their hand but with a rock! It just happened. My two year old was playing with his dump truck in the park when another little boy of about three or four came up. They started playin together which was fine. But then he decided to take my sons truck away from him. When my son wouldn't let go the little heathen hit him in the head with a rock and tried to run off. By that point I had gotten there and gathered my son and the truck to go inside. The little boy started yelling at me inspanish. I have no idea what unit he lives in or if his mother speaks english (unlikely) but the whole area is overrun with little naked mexican kids who don't share their toys and steal from others. This isn't the first time one of them has stolen something from my son, they have taken his cars and his bike from him but never has he been injured by on of them. He has a huge goose egg now. I'm so mad. I'm tempted to just never take him to the apartment park again even though the next closest is several blocks away.
