Does the last sentence in this paragraph sound like a good thesis statement for my research paper?
The Boxer Rebellion was a time of severe unrest within China’s borders. A weakened China had become overrun with foreigners pushing their own agendas on the Chinese people. Amid public outcry at what they viewed as foreigners trampling on the Chinese way of life, Empress Dowager Cixi from a severely weakened Ch’ing Dynasty, tried to expel the foreigners from her country by encouraging the Chinese to rebel against them. The foreigners had entrenched themselves in the Chinese land and economy and were not going anywhere. Finally, rebellions and battles broke out. The Chinese people were pushed beyond their limits and, in their attempt to eradicate invaders and restore their traditional way of life that the foreigners were currently repressing, the Boxer Rebellion began.
